Mira has been putting a lot of work into the map editor, and this build includes several useful additions.

  • You can now toggle a grid or axes overlay to help with precise tile placement.
  • A save icon button has been added for quick saving.
  • Undo and redo are now supported, which makes editing much less painful when you place something wrong.
  • Large maps now display correctly on the minimap, using a proper zoom factor instead of integer math that was causing visual issues.
  • A map size limit bug was also fixed.

Having an internal map editor is really cool. It is still very basic, but it has all – if not most – features required to build Skirmish maps. We have plans to expand it to make it possible to edit and create new campaign maps, so expect more updates about the map editor for sure!
